Not as much sizzle on the local Big 12 plate this week, but Kstate gets a road test, MU in a gotta-win game, and KU with absolutely nothing to lose.

I've picked against the Wildcats for three straight weeks accounting for all of my incorrect picks in an 11-3 start. I can be somewhat supersitious so I should keep going against them all season. But I did that for one week already, as I thought K-State would win at home over Missouri but tricked myself into picking against the Cats. Not so this week.
Texas Tech can score points, but they are also giving them up. I remember a very undisciplined squad that rolled into Lawrence a few weeks ago. And no they've lost their opportunity to continue a balanced offense with the injury to Eric Stephens.
I like Kansas State to go on the road and continue to play solid defense and continue to show steady offensive improvement.

The Tigers on a 3-game losing streak ??? I can't be. Is it more frustrating to be tantalizingly close or to get hammered if you are a head coach? The Tigers aren't that far off from being much better than 2-3, but they are 2-3 heading into homecoming on Saturday. It's also very odd that this will be a matchup of the two lowest scoring teams in Big 12 play. (Hence no TV ?)
I'll take MU with a heavy dose of Henry Josey to make up for last week and some healthy bodies behind him to get the ground game back and ISU to make the costly mistakes that have led to the 0-2 league start.

I'll be handling sideline duties for the Jayhawk Network this week, lucky me. What a terrible back to back slate for KU facing the two best offenses in the Big 12 and maybe even the country in OSU and now OU.
KU's defensive woes are indefensable. They gave up the most points in 24 years last week and have set worst ever school performances for passing yards allowed in game and rushing yards in a game already this year. And do you think OU didn't see that their in-state rivals put up a 70-spot on KU last week?
I don't think OU's Bob Stoops is a cut throat, run-it-up guy, but he's got a squad that was ranked #1 and without losing fell to 2 then to 3 in the coaches poll. They need style points and probably beat down points on national TV as well Saturday night.
I fear for the Jayhawks in this one. I've liked talking this season with DC Vic Shealy, but I wouldn't trade jobs with him for any amount of coin.
OU 62 KU 14
Season record 11-3.
