As Turner Gill noted it's November, I understand why he wants the calendar to flip, meanwhile I'd like to keep it going .. 18-4 on the season it's time for another week of local Big 12 picks after finally losing with someone other than K-State.
#14 Kansas State at #3 Oklahoma State Saturday 7pm ABC.
After a rough one last week vs the Sooners, the Wildcats gets another mammoth undertaking against the Cowboys. OSU with a win will be either 1 or 2 in next week's BCS (as LSU and Alabama loser will drop) so there's got to be some major anticipation among OSU nation of a big win. The Cowboys offensive machine keeps rolling with no signs of slowing down.
Kansas State is best equipped to offset this attack in my opinion, but the most recent vision of the Wildcats make this seem like a longshot. Kansas State would have to play mistake free, be able to sustain the run game, and get OSU to turn the ball over .. probably a lot!
I just don't see it. Hoping for better showing by the Cats than a week ago, but still an L.
OSU 45 K-State 21
Missouri at Baylor Saturday 6pm on 98.1fm KMBZ.
The battle for the mid region of the Big 12, a must game for both if they aim for an upper half finish which could be a matchup for bowl pecking order. Baylor has not lost at home this year, Baylor has RG3, Baylor has no D.
The Bears has steadily gone down hill since their close loss at Kansas State, while Missouri showed major toughness last week in the OT road win at A&M.
I think the Tigers D builds off last week's performance, as does James Franklin and the offense to pull off a second straight road win.
Missouri 28 Baylor 24
Kansas at Iowa State Saturday 1130am on 610 Sports Radio.
I think I said it last week, until they do it, I can't be picking the Jayhawks. What looked like the most winnable game on their Big 12 slate looks vastly different now after ISU's housing of Texas Tech last week.
The Cyclones have gone to a new QB in Jared Barnett. He's a mobile guy who can run some zone option. He has a limited body of work, but the last time I saw KU face zone option Collin Klein of K-State had a pretty good day.
This may be the Cyclones last chance at victory in 2011 as well with OU, OSU, K-St the final three weeks.
