Josh Klingler: It's not ova
KU wins, MU loses in games this week and I'm sure some on both sides of the state line are declaring the Big 12 regular season over. I saw plenty of tweets from KU fans who think they are now uncatchable and MU fans who thought the sky was falling after dropping one at OSU which now has the Tigers two games back.
This thing is far from over. Kansas' toughest tests come in the next two weeks beginning at Iowa State Saturday. Would I be surprised if KU falls in Hilton? No. And Kansas has roadies at Miz, Baylor & K-Sate in a span of less than two weeks coming up. In other words, Kansas can make it over by Valentines Day .. but just not yet.
Meanwhile Missouri has nothing to be ashamed of. Going to Stillwater isn't easy. No shame in getting Poked. How it happened did leave a little bit to be desired, not closing out a game where you had an eight point lead with 6:31 to play. The Tigers went cold, LeBryan Nash went volcanic. It happens.
Missouri shouldn't be tested on Saturday vs hapless Texas Tech then need to go win in Austin next Monday at Texas to set up the massive showdown Feb 4th hosting KU.
Kansas has Oklahoma next Wednesday and I'm not fearful of that, so the worst KU will enter is 8-1. Mizzou can't afford to have three losses by then.
I'm usually 'one game at a time' guy --- but I can't wait until KU@Mizzou1 and for that matter Mizzou@KU2 and already hoping for KU-Mizzou3KC.
