Josh Klingler: Not Liking the 3 Locals This Wkd

I'm 16-3 on the season .. all three losses coming by picking against K-State. So I went and shortchanged the Wildcats by 19 points in last week's pick, and now they have a game of the year type matchup with OU and ???

#8 Kansas State vs #9 Oklahoma. 230Pm on ABC.

I'm really ashamed, I want to pick K-State, I do. I would have IF Oklahoma would have held up their end of the bargain and beat Texas Tech, setting up Game Day in Manhattan and a major major party in the Little Apple. Not that it's not still a big game, but I would have truly been swallowed up in the hype and picked the Cats.

But now, I can't do it. OU should come in real mad. 39 straight wins at home just got flushed, national title aspirations maybe as well, their rivals at OSU may now control their own destiny to get into the title game. And above all OU is still a very good team.

Oklahoma's defensive line is really talented when they turn it on, buckling down to stop the option attack, I really like the Sooners to keep Collin Klein (who I thought was outstanding last week at KU) in check. Their D should have been embarrassed last week.

The top two defenses in the league are on display, yet I feel some points coming. I'm more than willing to be wrong again on K-State and really do hope their magical start keeps on rolling.

Kansas at #24 Texas. 6Pm on 610 Sports Radio.

Texas played the QB game again this week, David Ash or Case McCoy, Case McCoy or David Ash? I can't imagine KU spent many nights wondering who starts, the problems within should be enough to cause sleepless nights.

Texas hasn't won a Big 12 home game since 2009. Are they overlooking the Jayhawks? Will it matter? Unfortunately there's no way you can pick KU in any game right now, it's only about the margin until further notice.

There's another big Mizzou game ahead, another opportunity against a ranked team on the road, Pinkel-defnining moments. How many have their been?

I guess this year it's lucky there's realignment, it's got to take some of the heat off of the rebuilding Tigers this year. I shudder to say rebuild, I'd rather not, but how else would you describe it?

James Franklin at QB is certainly going through his learning moments this year, and as much as they wanted to put “buts” in front of a few of his turnovers last week .. four turnovers are four turnovers. I was glad to see the Tigers ride Henry Josey last week .. finally.

I'm not totally an A&M believer but this season they are better than Mizzou. Watch out for Ryan Swope. I love that guy.

A&M 34 MU 31
