With training camp a week away, the Chiefs are looked at as one of the contenders to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl this year in Minneapolis.  Even though I believe for the most part this is a turn key team that is just waiting for opening day, there will be a few key battles to watch over the next month when the team takes the practice field in St. Joe.

3.  Inside Linebacker

We seem to say this every single year:  Who will play next to DJ?  The answer is probably Ramik Wilson right now but there are options.  From DJ Alexander to newly re-signed Josh Mauga to Justin March-Lillard, the Chiefs have a lot of guys who can fill that role.  Funny thing is, we spend so much time in the preseason trying to figure this spot out and when the season starts we hardly mention the guy playing alongside #56.

2.  Cornerback opposite Marcus Peters

We know Peters is one of the best in the NFL today.  What we don't know is who is going to play the other side.  Like the ILB spot, the Chiefs have a TON of options here.  They could go with Phillip Gaines or Steven Nelson.  They may opt to go with Kenneth Acker or Terrance Mitchell who did a nice job in 2016.  The good news is with all these options guys will ball out in the preseason and someone will really earn this job.

1.  Running Back

The Chiefs are going to need production from the spot.  I believe when the season begins it will be Spencer Ware's team.  However rookie Kareem Hunt will be a fast riser and by the end of the year Chiefs fans will be loving him up!  Charcandrick West seems to be the forgotten man in the backfield but he could still challenge for some serious playing time in 2017.  CJ Spiller was signed in the off season but I am not really expecting him to be a guy that contribues.

What do you think are the positions that have the biggest question marks?
