Chiefs Projected Win Total

With the 2nd Easiest Remaining Schedule in the NFL, How Many Will KC Win?

The Chiefs have 7 games left in the regular season and most "experts" are calling for the Chiefs to finish with around 11 wins on the season.  That means they will probably lose 2 more games before the playoffs.  Their schedule is the 2nd easiest of all playoff contenders for the stretch run so finding where these 2 losses come from will prove difficult.  Nonetheless, we take a stab to see where the Chiefs may trip up!

Fescoe:  This is hard for me since I believe the Chiefs will run the table in the final 7 games and finish at 13-3.  However, for the sake of the blog, I will dig deeper into the 2nd half.

Giants- This will be an easy win.  The Giants are a mess and KC is so much better on both sides of the ball.  This is a win.

Bills- They are reeling right now, but they are still looked at as a playoff contender.  I like the addition of Benjamin, but this game is at Arrowhead. Chiefs win.

Jets- For the 2nd time in 3 weeks, the Chiefs head to Jersey to play a team called New York.  I think this is where they slip up.  I give the Jets the nod here.

Raiders- They got the win out in Oakland earlier in the year, however they will be playing for vacation and not the playoffs.  Chiefs win.

Chargers- This team has potential but its a short week and its at Arrowhead.  Chiefs take this one easily.

Dolphins- Earlier in the year this looked like a nice game.  It now looks like an easy win for the Chiefs.  KC wins going away

Denver- Final game of the year, KC has the west already locked up and they can't move any higher in the overall AFC Standings.  They sit everyone and Denver pulls the New Year's Eve upset.

Kling – When the schedules comes out every year I make my Chiefs prediction. It's often a dumb little exercise that means nothing, it's picking games on papers months before we know much about teams. But I do it every year anyway and keep a tally. This year I had the Chiefs right on 6-3 as they are now, but missed the exact how.

As you can see I had the Chiefs winning six straight to end the season at 12-4. That was on paper, and it may be shortsided. I think odds say the Chiefs will drop one that they shouldn't, but I don't see where.

@NYG – win – I had this as a loss initially, as the Giants were picked by some as a playoff team. Now I'm doing something I rarely do, pick a blowout. There's no reason they shouldn't crush the G-men. “PUT IN MAHOMES!!!”

Buffalo – win – not losing this one at home to the ??? Bills.  This would feel like a toss up in a road game (that place is a little messed up).  But at home I'd take KC.   I can't pick a loss here but it seems the most likely spot to me.

@NYJ – win – no excuse not to get a two-fer at the Meadowlands this season. Won't even need 8 Ryan Fitzpatrick turnovers

Oakland – win – revenge is a dish best served cold or something. It's time for payback in the cold in mid December at Arrowhead. Can't get swept by the Raiders when you are winning the division going away.

LA Chargers – win – 27 is the Chargers highest scoring game of the year so far. I'm thinking 24-10 just like the first meeting.

Miami – win – we just can't stomach losing to Jay Cutler. He'll need a cigarette on the sidelines by halftime.

@Denver – win – with the division wrapped up and seed set, Pat Mahomes gets his first NFL win, despite throwing a pick 6 to Chris Harris. Mahomes rebounds and finds Demarcus Robinson for a late 4th quarter TD in a one score win.

Final record 13-3. (I know, I know, this terrifies me too)    My gut says 12-4 but I can't pinpoint where the L is.

Welch:

@ Giants - win - the Giants are terrible, and Andy Reid is coming off of a bye. NYG is getting smoked.

Bills - loss - The Bills have hit the skids, making this a trap game for the Chiefs. This will be the loss that creates doubt in the fanbase.

@ Jets - win - The Chiefs are much better than the Jets, and it appears the early luck has run out for NYJ.

Raiders - win - Revenge game in the division at home, easy choice.

Chargers - win - The Chargers have played better as of late, but they're still not very good. Arrowhead will be cold, and the Chiefs will be victorious.

Dolphins - win - Jay Cutler LOL

@ Broncos - win - This game is 50/50 because it could mean nothing for the Chiefs and they play their backups. If it means something for playoff seeding, the Chiefs win big.

2nd Half Win Projections for the Chiefs

Final Record: 12-4
