With Tony Gonzalez going into the Chiefs Ring of Honor next season, Fescoe in the Morning looks at the KC athletes they feel we couldn't have lived without.

Kling - It's gotta be #5.  George Brett put us on the baseball map and made us relevant with his HOF career.

HOFers don't come around very often in places like KC.   GB was the face of the franchise for 20 years AFTER he retired and not until the 2014 and 2015 teams have we had players that may one day be held in the same regard.  He's still a large ambassador for the organization when he's not making sit-com appearances.

Fescoe - George Brett is a great one, Kling.  However mine is Len Dawson.  He is still the greatest QB that we have ever had in Kansas City...and we really aren't sure who #2 is on that list.  Len came to KC when the Chiefs moved here from Dallas and led the team to TWO Super Bowls, winning one.  He is also the only dude in the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a broadcaster and a player.  He's pretty accomplished.  He also has arguably the GREATEST Super Bowl photo of all time.

Find me another player burning a dart at halftime!!!  Lenny the Cool really is a stud.  Even today, no one is cooler.  Where would the Chiefs be without #16?

Welch - Eric Berry might not be as old or as established as the previous two, but I believe he will be. Berry has one of the most inspirational stories in the history of sports. Diagnosed with cancer during the 2014 season, Berry went through treatment and came back in 2015 to have his best season of his career. He followed that up with one of the most insane seasons for a safety we've ever seen in 2016.

I believe Eric Berry will be in the Chiefs Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame when his career is over, and I think I speak for everybody when I say I can't wait to see what he has in store for us in 2018.
