Heisman to be awarded December 9th

The Heisman Trophy race is headed down the final stretch.  The winner will be announced December 9th.

**BAKER MAYFIELD-Baker is cruising towards the Heisman but as a finalist twice can he win it this year?  Baker finished with 257 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 41-3 win over Kansas and has thrown at least 3 touchdowns in 8 games this year.  He has thrown for 3,816 yards with 34 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions. Next week v. West Virginia.  Biggest win:  @ Ohio State.

**JONATHAN TAYLOR-He leads the Big 10 by 568 yards rushing.  This week against Michigan he ran for 132 yards.  Has ran for over 100 yards in 8 games this year including 3 games over 200 yards.  The true freshman has been amazing this year. He is a big reason Wisconsin is still undefeated. This week @ Minnesota.  Biggest win: v. Michigan.

**LAMAR JACKSON-Last years Heisman winner has possibly been better this year than last year.  Look at these numbers in 2016: 3,543 yards passing with 30 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.  Rushing he had 1,571 yards and 21 touchdowns.  This season he has thrown for 3,273 yards with 23 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.  Rushing he has 1,287 yards and 17 touchdowns.  He became the first player to ever throw for 3,000 yards and run for 1,000 yards in back to back seasons.  This week: @ Kentucky.  Biggest win: Virginia.

 

**BRYCE LOVE-Bryce had 101 yards and a touchdown this week against in a 17-14 win over Cal. He did this in 3 quarters as he missed most of the 4th quarter after aggravating an ankle injury.  With 1,723 yards he is the 2nd leading rusher in the nation. This week v. Notre Dame.  Biggest win v. Washington.

**SAQUON BARKLEY-Saquon has been slipping in the rankings.  He ran for 158 yards this week against Nebraska with 3 touchdowns he also hauled in 6 catches for 66 yards.  For the seaon he has 1,057 yards rushing with 14 touchdowns.  He has also caught 46 passes for 590 yards and 3 touchdowns.  He has 2 kickoff return touchdowns and has even thrown a touchdown pass. This week: @ Marland.  Biggest win: Northwestern.
