Bink 2.0: Chiefs 7 Round Mock Draft

Chiefs Stay QB In Round 1 But Go RB In 2nd Round

Here is my 2.0 mock draft with some changes.  I will do one of these each week until the draft with 3.0 April 18th and my final 4.0 on April 25th.  Going to look at several scenarios on these but staying with the them of the position of need.  I am still sticking with Patrick Mahomes in the first round as many people have him as a fit in Kansas City and I agree.  Here is my mock 1.0

There are 3 guys that the Chiefs must replace.  Alex Smith, Derrick Johnson and Jamaal Charles.  They will have Alex this year but moving forward it's time to address replacements for these guys.

Round 1 pick 27- Patrick Mahomes QB Texas Tech -sticking to this pick in the first round. Way to many people have him linked to the Chiefs and I think he is a great fit for Andy Reid in the system.  A year of development and then 2018 ready to go.  He already visited the Chiefs in Kansas City.

I like hearing this:

I can only hope:

Round 2 pick 59-Alvin Kamara RB Tennessee-under utilized former Alabama transfer that possesses the skills this team misses.  The Chiefs have invested heavy in the offensive line but now would have someone to run behind it.

Round 3 pick 91-Anthony Walker Jr. ILB Northwestern- 16.5 tackles for loss as a sophomore and 10 last season.

Round 3 pick 104-Sidney Jones CB Washington- would be nice to have this Washington Huskie to pair with Marcus Peters another Washington Huskie.

Round 4 pick 132-Vincent Taylor DT Oklahoma State-Had him way undervalued in the 5th round in my mock 1.0.  It's looking more and more like a 3rd rounder.  13 tackles for a loss with 7 sacks.  Need him for special teams?  Long arms enabled him to block 4 kicks (Tied FBS in blocked kicks this year)

Rounnd 5 pick 170-Zach Banner OT/OG USC-6'8 355 lbs put some size on the offensive line.  If there is one thing this team needs is a road grader for short yardage.  Can play guard or tackle which Andy Reid likes.

Round 5 pick 180-Conner Harris ILB Lindenwood-Who?  Where?  Played in High School at Blue Springs South. Yes this D2 linebacker is a tackling machine racking up 138 tackles this year.  633 tackles for his career and Matt Miller from Bleacher Report is signing his praises.  He set the NCAA career tackle record.

Round 6 pick 216-Ben Gedeon ILB Michigan-Top performer at the combine in the 20 yard shuttle for position.  Finished 3rd in the 60 yard shuttler for position.

Round 6 pick 218-Fish Smithson S Kansas-Led the Jayhawks in tackles and Int's this past year--tough player that is fun to watch.

Round 7 245-Chad Kelly QB Ole Miss-Didn't have a chance to go to the combine because of various issues.  Then he had to leave his pro day with a wrist issue. Is former Bills QB Jim Kelly's nephew.  This would be a project with John Dorsey and Andy Reid made a project of Tyler Bray and we still don't know how good he can be.

There you have it my 2.0.  Some changes this week and expect some others next week with everything winding down with my 4.0 on April 25.
