Bink 3.0: Chiefs 7 Round Mock

Chiefs Stay QB In Round 1 And Address ILB In Round 2

Here is my mock 3.0.  The final mock 4.0 will be next Tuesday 4-25 at 8:30 as we inch closer to the NFL draft in Philadelphia.

I stay QB with the Chiefs in round 1 and put some quality inside linebackers in here along with playmakers at WR and RB.  This is a defining year for the Chiefs as John Dorsey has more picks than he ever has.  They did not have the money to dip into the free agency waters so if this team is going to be better it will have to be better because of Philadelphia.

ROUND 1 PICK 27-PATRICK MAHOMES-QB- Still believe this is where the Chiefs should and will go even if it means trading up.  Have seen RB, Corner at the 27 for the Chiefs in mocks and those that do have them getting a guy like Nathan Peterman in the 3rd but that doesn't solve long term quarterback issues for the Chiefs.  This is the year to grab a guy that isn't ready to start this year but will be the next.  A year with Andy Reid and Mahomes would be ready.

December 31, 1969 - 6:00 pm

ROUND 2 PICK 59-RAEKWON MCMILLAN-ILB Mcmillan is a guy that I like the most for the Chiefs at inside linebacker and he should be hovering around this area in the 2nd.  Again the Chiefs could package some of their 10 picks to ensure they can get Raekwon.  As this position the Chiefs MUST address early.  He was a 2nd team All American and first team All Big Ten

December 31, 1969 - 6:00 pm

ROUND 3 PICK 91-MONTRAVIUS ADAMS-DT-4 year player at Auburn.  8 tackles for loss this year and 4 sacks.  One think John Dorsey likes is depth at the defensive tackle and have a smooth rotation with these guys to keep them fresh and effective.

December 31, 1969 - 6:00 pm

ROUND 3 PICK 104-COOPER KUPP-WR-FCS All American for 4 straight years.  Averaged a touchdown every 5.9 catches in his career at Eastern Washington.  All time FCS leader in catches, yards and touchdowns.

December 31, 1969 - 6:00 pm

ROUND 4 PICK 132-SAMAJE PERINE-RB-ran for a record 427 yards in a game against Kansas in 2014-powerful running back.  Chiefs have struggled in short yardage and Perine could be the answer.

December 31, 1969 - 6:00 pm

ROUND 5 PICK 170-KENDALL BECKWITH ILB- played in all 4 seasons for LSU.  Coming of an ACL injury this past season but a tackling machine.

December 31, 1969 - 6:00 pm

ROUND 5 PICK 180-JARRON JONES-DT-10.5 tackles for loss and 2 sacks in his senior season at Notre Dame.  Again going for some depth for John Dorsey's defensive line rotation.

December 31, 1969 - 6:00 pm

ROUND 6 PICK 216-MICHAEL ROBERTS-TE--45 catches for 533 yards an an impressive 16 touchdowns the season playing in the MAC for Toledo.  Big target at 6' 4" inches and 270 pounds.  Could be what the Chiefs need as far as someone who can block in 2 tight end packages.

December 31, 1969 - 6:00 pm

ROUND 6 PICK 218-FISH SMITHSON-S-Put Fish in my mock 2.0 and really think he would be a nice fit for the Chiefs.  Now the Chiefs have spent some money on safeties with Eric Berry and Daniel Sorenson getting paid this season.  Led the Jayhawks in tackles and INT's.

December 31, 1969 - 6:00 pm

ROUND 7 PICK 245-Nate Hairston-CB-went Channing Stribling at corner in my 1.0 mock but this is just a dart at corner which John Dorsey has been great with corners whether it is trading for them or picking them up on waivers.  Hairston is a converted WR and played corner in 2015-2016.
