The Chiefs continued to make moves as this past week as they added some help to the defensive line with the signing of Xavier Williams from Arizona.  Not to mention Xavier played his high school football in Kansas City at Grandview.

HERE IS MY MOCK 1.0

HERE IS MY MOCK 2.0

**Round 2 pick 54- Lorenzo Carter-EDGE-Georgia-Staying here with Lorenzo for the 3rd straight week.  Did the same thing in all my mocks with Mahomes last year.  To me this is an area they need the most.  They have gone out and addressed many other needs this offseason.  Edge rusher is not something I would wait on to long in this draft.

From Lance Zierlein NFL.com-"STRENGTHS- Tremendously long and rangy. Long strider with ability to cover ground quickly and close on wide flowing plays. Effective use of arm length. Consistent punch and separation against blocks. Takes contain responsibilities seriously. Plus quickness in lateral slides. Frame unravels to catch running backs who think they are in the clear. Uses long-arm stab to access blocker's frame and set the edge. Build-up speed creates downfield angles to the sideline to challenge ball carriers and receivers after catch. Active as tackler to search for and yank at the football. Forced and recovered six career fumbles. Has edge-threatening get-off. Uses slinky upper body to slide around blocker's punch. Flashes talent to flip hips around the arc and flatten to the quarterback. Posted 15 career sacks."

**Round 3 pick 78 - M.J. Stewart-CORNER-North Carolina-Good size corner who can mix it up stopping the run game.  Also could possibly play safety.

MJ STEWART COLLEGE STATS

From Lance Zierlein NFL.com-"STRENGTHS- Good build and overall toughness. Has had success in off-man and press-man. Rarely takes a bad loss against press release. Opens hips and connects with hands to the receiver. Can cover inside or outside. Makes it a point to drape himself over slot targets as early in the route as possible. Can counter move tight ends with physicality. Pattern reader with 41 passes defensed in three years. Can transition forward from bail or pedal without many false steps. Sinks into chests of boundary targets and gets head around to find the ball. Instinctive and cautious not to bite on double moves. Has early acceleration to recover. Maintains contain responsibilities against run. Roughneck by nature with "see it, hit it" attitude. Strike and wrap tackler."

**Round 3 pick 86-Tim Settle -DT-Virginia Tech-Could go in 2nd round but hope he is right here in round 3. He is 6'3" 335 lbs which would play nicely in a rotation on the Chiefs defense.

From Lance Zierlein NFL.com-"STRENGTHS- Accepted his coaches challenge to lose weight and improve conditioning and has done just that. Thick and broad across lower body. Rare agility for a man his size. Plays with infectious energy. Built low to the ground. Blasts out of his stance to capture the neutral zone. Able to play under and through the edge of blockers. Can be destructive along the interior when he has his wind. Power in upper body for quick punch and shed at point of attack. Good pursuit motor around the field. Locates ball early in the snap and plays off blocks to make tackles. Pad level is good. Has ability to penetrate and two-gap. Arm over can get early wins. Legitimate pocket pusher who can force quarterback to throw from unbalanced platform."

**Round 4 pick 122- Hercules Mata'afa-EDGE-Washington State-One of my favorite guys in this draft.  Undersized defensive lineman shows his toughness.  Will play in the NFL as an edge rusher.

HERCULES MATA'AFA COLLEGE STATS

From Lance Zierlein NFL.com-"Strengths- Known as the toughest guy in the locker room. Every snap is important to him. Uses explosive get-off to disrupt play design from a defensive tackle spot. Impossible to secure him with reach blocks when he's playing three-technique. Zombie-like motor. Gets tackles and sacks thanks to secondary effort. Good lateral quickness to slide to the blocker's edge. Plays with single-minded desire to find the football. Has leverage to work under and around the blocker once he gets to an edge. Punishing tackler with heavy pads."

**Round 4 pick 124 -William Clapp-C/G-LSU-Have been picking Braden Smith the last 2 mocks but I have a feeling he is trending upwards towards the 2nd round and couldn't see the Chiefs going guard in round 2.   Clapp might help replace Zach Fulton who left for the Texans.  Zach provided depth at center and at guard.  Team captain and 1st team all SEC at center this year and at guard in 2016.

From Lance Zierlien NFL.com-"STRENGTHS- Has good overall size for the position. Has experience and ability to handle guard reps if needed. Uses consistent footwork as wall-off blocker in tight quarters. Adequate ability to pin down blocks. Has hand strength to latch on for longer sustain. Plays with impressive intelligence and awareness in pass protection. Spies when and where pre-snap trouble is brewing. Has outstanding recognition and timing with his dual blocks against blitzers. Carries the mass and anchor to absorb power rushers and hang tight. Durable worker bee."

**Round 6 pick 196-Du'Vonta Lampkin-DT-Oklahoma-Showed up in my mock 2.0.  He is going to be an under the radar player chosed in the last couple of rounds. Did not receive a combine invite but did impress at OU's pro day.

**Round 7 pick 233- Sean Chandler-S-Temple-Only Temple player invited to the combine. Improved his 40 time in the pro day from his combine. Staying with this pick in the 7th round. Seems like a hard nosed grinder.

From Lance Zierlein NFL.com-"STRENGTHS Four-year starter and highly regarded by everyone in the program. Mentally tough with history of defeating adversity. Mature playing style. Does what needs to be done around line of scrimmage as tackler. Steps into run fits and wraps tightly around runner's legs to finish as solo tackler. Looks to pull the ball free when he can. Pursues ball with consistent vigor. Opportunistic. The football finds him in coverage. Ten career interceptions. Quick to tackle after catch. Aware from shallow zone. Cornerback experience shows when guarding slot. Always plays under control. Covers kicks and can return punts."

**Round 7 pick 243-Dylan Cantrell-WR -Texas Tech-Played with Patrick Mahomes including hauling in 58 for 675 and 8 touchdowns in 2016.  High school teamate of Patrick Mahomes as well. Stands in at 6'3" 226 lbs.
