Why the Chiefs went from 5-0 to 6-6

The Wheels Have Fallen Off

The 2017 season went from one of the most promising seasons in Chiefs history to a complete disaster, going from 5-0 to 6-6.

How did this happen? Why did this happen?

The answer is as simple as it is depressing: Everything. Everything has fallen apart.

The Chiefs become increasingly frustrating to watch because every week it’s something new. Even today, as the Chiefs lost to the Jets, it was like they found an all new way to do it.

Alex Smith was on fire in the Meadowlands: 19-33, 366 yars 4 TD 0 INT. But the defense was atrocious, which is odd because in the previous two losses, the defense looked really good while Alex Smith looked nothing short of terrible.

It’s like this team takes turns screwing things up. Marcus Peters has had a subpar season by his standards, and added to it today by throwing a penalty flag in the stands after a defensive holding penalty on a 2-point conversion.

Marcus Peters appeared to be ejected, but we later learned he was not ejected, Marcus just left. He returned after somebody went and got him from the locker room… and he wasn’t wearing socks.

Marcus also appeared to be arguing with fans in the stands.

It was the cherry on top of a season that has taken an inexplicable turn to Suck Town, USA. After Sunday, the Chiefs will likely be in a three-way tie for 1st place in what was once considered to be a locked up AFC West. Hopefully, you went to the 610 Watch Party at Winning Streaks in North KC and drank enough to deal with what this Chiefs season has become.
