"Bulldog" Bob Fescoe is the host of Fescoe in the Morning, heard weekdays 6a-9a on 610 Sports Radio. The KU grad has been a voice in the Kansas City sports scene for the better part of the last decade and brings his passion to the table with some bite every weekday morning.
Back to work on Sunday for the Kansas City Chiefs. Two days after a lack luster performance at Arrowhead Stadium, the Chiefs showed the same kind of intensity on a cool afternoon on Sunday in St. Joe.
The big story developing out of Chiefs camp is the lack of intensity. Writers from all over the nation are talking about how the Chiefs camp lacks fire and intensity compared to the other camps around the league. One writer even went as far to say that the Chiefs don’t even look like they are enjoying football right now. That is not kind praise for a team coming off a division title.
So is this a good thing that the Chiefs are not hitting and turning it up on the practice field? That remains to be seen. Todd Haley will either look like a genius or a goat at the end of the season.
If the Chiefs come out and roll Buffalo in week 1, all the talk about a non intense camp will be forgotten. If they come out and get rolled in week one, fans and media alike will be screaming about this team not being ready.
As of now, I am going to with hold judgement. We don’t know what the final results are going to be for this team.
What we do know is that Haley and company won ten games last year and have more weapons on offense than they did a season ago.
Proof will be in the pudding. It will be very imperative for KC to come out and play a good game on Sept 11th. In fact, it will be imperative for the
Chiefs to play a good game in one of their next two preseason games. Fans want to see the Chiefs have some intensity and want to. We have not seen that yet. Will we ever? Stay tuned….
