Time to play fantasy GM at the end of a highly entertaining year for the Chiefs. And when I say 'fantasy' GM for these purposes I mean I really don't care about contract status … either in or out. For now it's sorting out the members of the wrong 53.
Matt Cassel – in – although I want actual QB competition
Kyle Orton – in – if possible, I say FA longshot
Tyler Palko – out – the Eduardo Villacis of the Chiefs, you'll remember him for all of the wrong reasons
Ricky Stanzi – in – not sure if he can play, but more development ahead
Jamaal Charles – in – no explanation needed
Thomas Jones – out - time to upgrade
Dexter McCluster – in – filled more of a role than I thought he would this year
Le'Ron McClain – in – good locker room guy, only playable FB on roster
Jackie Battle – out – maybe if he'd go back to special teams role, otherwise try to upgrade
Shane Bannon – in – camp guy
Shaun Draughn – in – ditto
Dwayne Bowe – in – despite his flaws, #1s are hard to find, franchise or get contract done
Steve Breaston – in – very good season, steady, came to play for Haley but ..
Jonathan Baldwin – in – time to progress faster
Terrance Copper – in – I used to downplay him, but he's solid special teams + made some plays
Jeremy Horne – in – need special teamers
Jerheme Urban – out – Haley guy hasn't done anything of note
Jamar Newsome – out – have no clue who he is, sounds like Joe Anybody WR
Tony Moeaki – in – get healthy fellow Hawkeye, and stay healthy!
Leonard Pope – in – debate as to whether or not he had a good season
Anthony Becht – out – good dude, will make a ton more money than me in the media, beginning next season
Jake O'Connell – out – 3 is enough, need an upgrade for #2 TE
Branden Albert – in – not a Pro Bowler yet, still could be
Jon Asamoah – in – good start in 2nd season
Rob Bruggeman – in – just signed so he's in
Rodney Hudson – in – is he the C or a G?
Ryan Lilja – out – seems the time is right to move on
Steve Maneri – in – need some backups
David Mims – in – project guy
Lucas Patterson – in – ditto
Barry Richardson – out – no explanation
Casey Wiegmann – out – 11,000 plus snaps, love the guy, time to hang it up
Ryan O'Callaghan – out – injured this year, my lasting memory will be him taking a dip out to talk to reporters the first day he arrived from NE
Allen Bailey – in – solid rookie year
Brandon Bair – in – developmental, no hurt
Glenn Dorsey – in – better season in '11
Wallace Gilberry – out – wouldn't be opposed to him, but what is he?
Amon Gordon – in – liked him in spurts
Kelly Gregg – out – good stopgap, upgrade needed
Tyson Jackson – in – decent season, Pioli's cart tied to him
Jerrell Powe – in – was last years draft pick, but has to play more than 1 game
Anthony Toribio – in – he's been re-signed
Tamba Hali – in – umm, yeah
Derrick Johnson – in – well deserved 1st Pro Bowl
Justin Houston – in – came on late, likey
Jovan Belcher – in – everybody seemingly wants an upgrade, is he that bad?
Caleb Campbell – out – no clue, he doesn't know me and I don't know him
Cory Greenwood – in – developmental
Cameron Sheffield – in – still would like to see more of him
Andy Studebaker – in – good special teams / situational guy
Demorrio Williams – out – need space for fresh blood
Brandon Siler – in – just re-signed, missed all year after signing from SD
Gabe Miller – in – draft pick injured this season
Brandon Flowers – in – signed new deal last year, like him a lot
Brandon Carr – in – would love to see him back, likelihood?? He'll be in demand
Eric Berry – in – welcome back and hopefully soon
Kendrick Lewis – in – good season under circumstances
Javier Arenas – in – fills a nice role
Jalil Brown – in – coaches seem to love him on special teams, how about on D?
Travis Daniels – in – good backup guy
All other safeties – out – time to start over. Bye Jon McGraw, Rashard Langford, Donald Washington and Sabby Piscatelli.
Special Teams –
All in for Dustin Colquitt, Ryan Succop and long snapper Thomas Gafford.
