Josh Klingler: Bounce back week

A setback week for sure in picking the local 3 college football teams last Saturday. After a 3-0 start, it was a 1-2 week in losing both the Missouri and Kansas outcomes. But the show must go on with three more matchups on Saturday.

Kansas hosts #15/16 TCU, 11am on 610 Sports Radio.

What a gut wrencher last Saturday as Kansas blew a two score lead in a loss to Rice. Now the season gets difficult as the Jayhawks are likely to be the underdog from here on out and have to signficantly ramp up their game to be competitive from here on out. KU does have a non-conference game next week at Northern Illinois which won't be easy, especially after what could be a rough afternoon in Lawrence Saturday.

TCU thumped Grambling State in their one and only tuneup, their two Qbs went 17-17 passing and they had defensive and special teams scores as they put on a clinic. It will be very hard to imagine that KU would give the Horned Frogs a rude awakening to the Big 12.

TCU 31 – Kansas 17.

Missouri hosts Arizona State, 6pm on 98.1fm KMBZ.

The Tigers look to rebound from their SEC opening loss to Georgia with a non-conference tilt Saturday against the Sun Devils. I for one, like the fact that it's a known school rather than a mid-major which should help avoid the classic let down from last week's hyped conference debut.

ASU can score they thumped former MU perennial foe Illinois last week 45-14 and have 108 points in their frist two games. Missouri could stand getting back to their run game. The MU offensive line is in flux yet again thanks to injuries with youth getting an opportunity to prove itself, yet I'd run, run run. That being said I'd love to see frosh sensation Dorial Green Beckham have a breakout performance after the disappearing act last week.

For some reason I just don't see this one as pretty as some Tigers think it will be.

Missouri 35 - Arizona State 30

#14 / 15 Kansas State hosts North Texas, 6pm.

Anything less than a 'name your score' game would probably be a letdown after last week's drubbing of Miami. But the Wildcats could stand to get off to the fast start of a week ago turning around week one's sleepy opening three quarters.
QB Collin Klein is Big 12 offensive player of the week and lost in his rushing success is that he's completed 72% of his passes through two games.

Do we care about Klein this week? Or am I just going to focus on my fictitious college fantasy football sleeper QB Daniel Sams? Play anything like they did last week, and you'll see a whole lot of Sams in this one.

K-State 48 – North Texas 10
